Monotropism and Autistic Wellbeing

In this webinar Hanna explores monotropism, a theory of autism developed by autistic researchers. Monotropism refers to the way that individuals allocate attention, with monotropic individuals tending to focus more detailed attention on a smaller number of things at a time. Hanna weaves in conversations and quotes from monotropic thinkers as well as drawing on her own lived experience and delves into what monotropism means for autistic wellbeing including topics like flow, autistic inertia and burnout. This webinar covers what we can do to support monotopic thinkers to thrive.

This webinar is delivered by Dr Hanna Venton-Platz, Spectrum Gaming's Clinical Psychologist. Hanna has been working with autistic young people and adults since 2008, initially as a support worker, and since 2017 as a Psychologist. You can find out a bit more about Hanna in her 'Meet the Team' video.
